The short version: Pomodoro Focus stores all your data locally on your device. Nothing is collected, transmitted, sold, or shared with anyone. There are no accounts, no servers, and no third-party services.
1. What This Extension Does
Pomodoro Focus is a productivity timer that helps you maintain 25-minute focus sessions, enforces breaks via a fullscreen overlay, and shows you a daily report of which websites you spent time on.
2. What Data the Extension Accesses
To function, the extension accesses the following:
- The domain of your currently active tab (e.g.
instagram.com) — used only to track how many minutes you spend on each site, for the daily report.
- Your active tab and window focus state — used to count time only when Chrome is the focused window and a tab is active.
- Your name (if you choose to enter one in the popup) — used only to personalize voice announcements like "Hey [Your Name], time for a break."
- Your sound preference and timer state — used to remember your settings between sessions.
3. What the Extension Does NOT Access
- The content of any webpage
- Form data, passwords, or anything you type
- Your browsing history outside of currently open tabs
- Your identity, email, IP address, or location
- Cookies, browser fingerprints, or device information
4. Where Your Data Is Stored
All data is stored locally on your computer using Chrome's built-in chrome.storage.local API. This data never leaves your device. There is no cloud sync, no remote backup, and no server-side storage.
Specifically, the extension stores:
- Today's domain time totals (auto-deleted at the start of each new day if storage cleanup is enabled)
